Starting in late June, Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure is based on the wily secret-agent alter-ego of Perry the Platypus – faithful pet to the title characters from Disney’s animated series “Phineas & Ferb.” Although just a simple pet to Phineas and Ferb, Perry turns into Agent P in each episode to help stop the misguided plans of his nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Epcot guests will transform into secret agents to help Agent P thwart some of Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s most daring plots. Agents will use a high tech detection device called a “F.O.N.E.” or Field Operative Notification Equipment to receive clues for each case. Solving the clues will take agents to different places throughout seven World Showcase countries at Epcot – Mexico Pavilion, France Pavilion, Germany Pavilion, Norway Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, China Pavilion and the United Kingdom Pavilion. Agents will scour each country for clues, evil “Inators,” and – with a little bit of luck – help Agent P defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Agents should also use a Disney World Scooter Rental while touring the World Showcase.

The current Disney Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure will close this Friday, May 18.

Guests can view this model in all it’s detail beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, May 16, at One Man’s Dream, an exhibit that highlights some of Walt Disney’s biggest dreams come to life. This birth was the fourth for mom, Kendi, a 13-year-old white rhino, who was the first rhino born at the park. A rhino birth is a significant event because at one time the species was nearly extinct. As a result of conservation efforts and careful management, the species has grown to number approximately 20,150 worldwide, with 215 residing in North American zoological parks.

The success of our white rhino breeding program has enabled our animal care team to make a direct contribution to the conservation of white rhinos in the wild. In 2006, Nande and Hasani, two rhinos born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, traveled to Africa to join four others at Ziwa Sanctuary in Uganda, where they are helping to reestablish a population that had been extinct since the 1980s. In 2009, Nande became the first white rhino to give birth in Uganda in 27 years; she gave birth to a second calf last year.

This event, now in its second year, celebrates everything “Cars.” There will be meet and greets with Lightning McQueen, Mater (my son’s favorite!), and Finn McMissile, as well as a movie marathon at AMC Downtown Disney 24 with showings of “Cars” and “Cars 2.”
New elements that will debut this year include an appearance by automotive designer Chip Foose, who contributed to the design of Ramone in the “Cars” film and in the upcoming Cars wing of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort; a LEGO interactive zone; “Cars”-themed topiaries; a DJ and food trucks. Jay Ward, Cars guardian, will also make an appearance.

Returning fun will include a chance for guests to test-drive Ridemakerz model cars and browse a car show presented by Hess that will feature more than 100 classic, muscle and exotic cars. Q: What are some things dads and kids can do to make Mother’s Day extra special for Mom — either at Disney Parks or at home?

A: We always try to think of what she would want, not what we would want. So for a special “Mom day” we start with giving her some alone time to catch up on some reading, or just to relax. Then when she rejoins us, we make a point of having some activity ready to go, so that she does not have to plan everything as usual. The real key is to give her time for herself, but also time with the family.

Another fun thing we do is when Mom wants a little treat on the weekend, we go “get the newspaper” for her, which is code for us getting her a special drink from Starbucks. Now that there are going to be Starbucks at Walt Disney World Resort, we can incorporate that special tradition into our family vacations!

Q: Can you share some examples of things your family has done for Mother’s Day at Walt Disney World Resort that were a hit with Mom?

A: On one of our Walt Disney World Resort trips, we planned a special afternoon for my wife to thank her for being so great. At lunch in Magic Kingdom Park, I brought back a tray with only sandwiches for myself and the girls. For Mom there was card telling her to go to our room at Disney’s Polynesian Resort for an afternoon of relaxation. Waiting for her were some of her favorite magazines to read by the pool, lunch and a massage appointment. While she enjoyed herself, I took the girls to the pool, and later got them cleaned up for a nice dinner out. When she was done she met us at the California Grill (her favorite!) and we had a framed PhotoPasspicture of us in front of Cinderella Castle for a present.

You can even re-create part of this later at home by going to a local craft store and creating a shadowbox just for Mom with memories and photos from a vacation.

Q: Since Mother’s Day is only one day to celebrate just how awesome moms are, what can you do to make her feel special all year round?

A: Once a month we have a themed dinner. Dad cooks, one daughter is the theme master in charge of decoration, and the other daughter is the server. While Mom relaxes in another room, we create a dinner themed to a Disney movie. We create a custom menu on the computer, decorate the room, and play the movie soundtrack during dinner. A recent hit was our “Mulan” meal, complete with ginger sesame pork chops, paper lanterns lighting the dining room and a menu from “Mushu’s Diner.” The hardest part is picking the next theme!

Starbucks will bring all of its signature drinks and food to the parks at the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The first of six locations will open in June at the Disney California Adventure Park, with locations to follow at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Officials said the locations within the parks will be designed to fit the feel of the locations’ surroundings. Guests visiting the park will also be able to indulge on their favorite Disney treats within each Starbucks location.
